The Helix Center will be the fifth business incubator in St. Louis County's family of incubators known as St. Louis Enterprise Centers. Scheduled to open in early 2011, the Helix Center will house early-stage plant and life science businesses. In addition to wet and dry lab facilities, affordable lease rates, and access to industry specific experts, the new incubator also has its own funding source available to client companies. The Helix Fund has $1.5 million in early-stage capital available to life science entrepreneurs living or working in St. Louis County. The new incubator will be located at 1100 Corporate Square Drive in Creve Coeur.
The County has also announced that over the next three years, the four existing incubators will receive renovations and updates. These incubators are located in Wellston, Midtown, South County and West County. They offer affordable office and warehouse space, shared support services, access to expert mentors, and networking opportunities. Client companies come from various industries including food services, assembly and light manufacturing, warehouse and distribution, and health care services. Currently the incubators are operating at an 80% occupancy rate.
The selection process for businesses interested in moving into St. Louis Enterprise Centers involves submitting an application and business plan, and an interview with the Enterprise Center vice president. To request more information complete a Client Information Form.
