China on My Mind
Missouri Export Today
January 7, 2010
With all due respect to Ray Charles and Willie Nelson, the talk around St. Louis is the China Hub Commission. This effort to increase commerce between the U.S. and China hinges on increasing U.S. exports to China. The U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) is very active in facilitating trade to China. With offices in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenyang and coverage of 14 second-tier cities through American Trading Centers there are over 100 Dept. of Commerce employees working to open markets, find buyers, and protect intellectual property. The China Business Information Center also contains podcasts, webinars and other resources for investigating doing business in China. Have your clients call the St. Louis office for personal assistance when exploring exporting to China.
