St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley will be in Washington, D.C. on Thursday to ask Congress to reauthorize the full $500 million funding for the Economic Development Administration.

Dooley said the funding is important for the EDA to continue creating jobs and growth in St. Louis.
"If you thing about all the things they've started for St. Louis, you know we need them to do a good job," he said.

Dooley said his testimony will include local case studies on the Recovery Act and highlight projects like the MET Center and World Wide Technology, Inc., as well as other projects EDA has helped fund to create opportunities for small businesses, entrepreneurs, training and larger businesses in the area.
"This is a great opportunity to use St. Louis as an example and to showcase what we're doing in the community," he said.
