The St. Louis County Economic Council has named Andrew Ruben its general counsel.
Ruben will coordinate the legal services vital to the council's goal of promoting economic development projects.

He succeeds Elaine Wright, who resigned after 16 years to pursue other interests.

Previously, Ruben spent 10 years in private practice at Bryan Cave LLP and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, where he worked for many of the region's largest companies in the areas of general corporate law, corporate finance and securities, real estate development and acquisitions, commercial litigation and arbitration, project finance and complex commercial construction. He also has counseled clients for real estate development projects in Canada, Mexico and the European Union.

Denny Coleman is president and chief executive of the council.
