The Centene Corp. is hoping the third time is a charm.

After abandoning plans for expansion in Clayton over eminent-domain issues and another effort for expansion in the still-to-be-built Ballpark Village in downtown St. Louis, the health care management company is returning to Clayton.

Representatives from Centene and its development team presented their plans for a more than $200 million mixed-use office and retail project at a public forum before last week's Board of Alderman meeting.Robert Wislow of U.S. Equities outlined the two phases of the 147,000-square-foot development at Hanley Road, Forsyth Boulevard and Carondolet Avenue. He called the intersection of Hanley and Carondelet the most important in the city.
