New tech center will create 300 jobs in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The pharmacy benefits manager Express Scripts is opening its new Technology and Innovation Center in St. Louis County, creating about 300 new jobs.

A ceremony marking the opening was Thursday. Gov. Jay Nixon, Sen. Kit Bond and other political and civic leaders attended the event.

Bond's office says that in addition to hundreds of new workers, the center will house a pharmacy automation center capable of dispensing 500,000 pills per hour.

Express Scripts already employs about 4,000 people at its corporate office in St. Louis County.
