TechGuard Welcomes Senator Bond during National PoliWall Q Launch
TechGuard Security, a provider of proven technologies and services that protect critical networks from cyber attack, today announced that U.S. Senator Kit Bond will visit the TechGuard headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri on Friday, July 17, 2009. Senator Bond's visit highlights the national launch of TechGuard's latest network security appliance, the PoliWall Q.
"The recent attacks against our government networks underscore the very real threat of cyber terrorism," Bond said. "The innovative work being developed at TechGuard Security is vital to our defense against cyber attacks." Last year, Senator Bond supported $2 million for R&D of TechGuard's innovative cybersecurity solutions.
"The launch of the PoliWall Q will be a tremendous asset to our national defense networks, and we are especially proud to have such a high-caliber company like TechGuard housed in one of our St. Louis Enterprise Centers," said St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley.
At the national PoliWall Q launch, TechGuard will demonstrate the innovative security application and how the product maintains bandwidth priority for critical communication channels. TechGuard developers will simulate a cyber attack from China and demonstrate how the PoliWall can mitigate the attack by blocking all network traffic from that country without latency in the network. "With the ever increasing news of TechGuard Welcomes Senator Bond during National PoliWall Launch Page 2 of 2 hackers who threaten U.S. networks from foreign countries, most recently believed to be North Korea, enterprise as well as the government must take measures to identify and prevent the attackers," said TechGuard President and CEO, Suzanne Magee.
TechGuard's PoliWall Q is a high-performance security appliance developed to counter global network attacks. The product offers simplified traffic management to block entire countries, IP subnets, ranges, or specific IP addresses from accessing a network. While users can protect their organization from hostile Internet threats by blocking entire countries, TechGuard designed a graphical interface that allows the exception of selected groups of IP addresses within a blocked geographical area to continue communications.
Suzanne Magee stated that the vast majority of the Critical Infrastructure within the United States is owned and operated by the private sector. "The PoliWall Q, a government-tested cybersecurity capability now available to private enterprise, supports overall national security initiatives." Magee praised Senator Bond for prioritizing cyber security on Capitol Hill. "Senator Bond's longtime support of small business innovation has enabled us to develop technology with unprecedented capability. We are honored to welcome Senator Bond on Friday."
