There are many cities located in various places around the United States that are outstanding. While cities like New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA may be hard to beat, it is important to know that you do not have to live on the coast to love where you live. St. Louis, MO, located in the center of the country on the west side of the Mississippi River, is one great place to call home. St. Louis has so much to offer; it's amazing that everyone doesn't pack up and head there. What, you may wonder, makes St. Louis such a great place to live? Read and learn!
Located in the Mississippi River Valley, St. Louis is a lush, green community with beautiful parks. In fact, Forest Park is one of the largest in the country with its 1200 acres. Within the park, you will enjoy museums, the Muny theater, and the zoo-all free, as well as areas to picnic, walk and run. Among the other ten or so major parks, on the outskirts of town, you will find Lone Elk Park, complete with elk and buffalo. The Botanical Gardens is a great place to escape and enjoy the beautiful plants of many lands.
Saint Louis enjoys all four seasons. Fall stays around a little longer than other areas, making winter a little shorter. There are seldom extreme highs in the summer or extreme lows in the winter.

Traveling residents find the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport very handy. Major airlines, like Continental and United, fly right into St. Louis.
