Rasmussen Returns to St. Louis County Economic Council as VP of Business Development

St. Louis, MO, August 26, 2009 - Douglas Rasmussen has been named Vice President of Business Development for St. Louis County Economic Council. He returns to the Economic Council's Business Development Division where he previously worked four years ago in the capacities of project manager and assistant vice president.

Rasmussen has extensive experience in business development in both the public and private sectors. As vice president, his responsibilities include generating business attraction, retention and expansion opportunities in St. Louis County and developing and implementing programs to assist new and existing companies grow and create jobs. He also will direct and supervise the activities of the Business Development Division.

Rasmussen has a Master of Arts in urban affairs from Saint Louis University and Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to rejoining the Economic Council, Rasmussen was vice president at Green Street Properties where he developed opportunities and worked with the public sector to negotiate and obtain development entitlements. Rasmussen also was employed by St. Louis Regional Cooperation and Growth Association (RCGA) as the director of business recruitment where he managed the recruitment and economic development of over 2.6 million square feet and $254 million in new office and industrial space.
