How should the struggling Jamestown Mall in Florissant be revamped? St. Louis County wants to hear your ideas.

Officials are working on developing a master plan and feasibility study for the half-empty shopping complex and have scheduled a hands-on design session facilitated by Dover Kohl & Partners and project manager Pamela Stacy for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the student center multi-purpose room at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley.

Project team members also include H3 Studio, Urban Advisors and Vector Communications.
"This is an important next step for the future of Jamestown Mall, and the community's input is critical to the overall success of the master plan and determining what's feasible and what's not," St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley said in a statement Wednesday.

Several other public events will be held at the community college:

Open Design Studio: 9 a.m. -7 p.m. Friday-Monday: Stop by the studio to talk with design team and provide input as the plan evolves.
Open House: 10:30 a.m. - noon Saturday: View the design team's work to date and provide feedback on the plan
Final Work-in Progress Presentation: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday: See the work completed during the past week.

Many stores have closed at Jamestown Mall, including Dillard's and Sears. Last fall, real estate experts recommended that Jamestown Mall should be torn down and replaced with a town center featuring restaurants, stores, offices, housing, a business incubator and a farmer's market.
