Economic Council's Annual Meeting Showcased County Accomplishments, Paid Tribute to Senator Bond and Other Leaders

St. Louis, September 2, 2010 - A sold-out crowd of nearly 850 business and civic leaders packed the ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton yesterday in Clayton to attend St. Louis County Economic Council's 26th Annual Meeting. St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley and Economic Council President & CEO Denny Coleman reviewed economic development accomplishments, acknowledged their many great partnerships and highlighted innovative programs to help small businesses succeed.

"St. Louis County stands committed to putting building blocks in place to sustain a healthy business environment," said Dooley. "Even in these challenging times, the County continues to maintain its AAA bond rating and is the only county in Missouri and one of 35 nationwide to hold this elite rating ranked by the three top agencies."

Dooley and Coleman shared significant investments and job creation over the past year from a variety of companies including Express Scripts, Edward Jones, Scottrade, Panera Bread, the National Personnel Records Center, River City Casino, and Liberty Mutual that continue to generate high-quality jobs within the County.

In addition, a special tribute to United States Senator Christopher "Kit" Bond honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Dooley also proclaimed September 1, 2010 as Senator Kit Bond Day.
