A large building under construction at the NorthPark business park is in the precise spot identified as one of two locations Express Scripts wants to build a drug distribution facility.
The company isn't saying if NorthPark has beat out a business park in suburban Philadelphia as the location of the new facility, which will employ nearly 270 people. But spokeswoman Maria Palumbo says the north St. Louis County site "is emerging as a top choice" for the $60 million facility.
Missouri and Pennslyvania are offering various tax incentives to lure the distribution center. The Missouri Development Finance Board could give final approval of the state's incentives when it meets next month.
Local builder Clayco is putting up the building at Hanley Road and Evans Avenue, the spot the state board has identified as the Missouri location Express Scripts is considering.
Palumbo says Express Scripts has yet to make a final decision on the facility's site but says it appreciates the "attractive offer" the building presents. The company wants to open the distribution center in April.
"What we're seeing there is a local builder trying to make sure we can meet our schedule," she said.
Stay tuned.
