Study: St. Louis ranks No. 19 for business climate

St. Louis was ranked the 19th best city in the United States for its business climate, according to online financial news publisher MarketWatch.

Kansas City was tied for No. 16 with Raleigh, N.C. Minneapolis-St. Paul ranked at the top of the MarketWatch study on the nation's best metro centers for business. New Orleans came in at No. 50.

The survey looked at metropolitan areas that have started, grown and retained businesses and issues associated with how and why businesses thrive in those cities. MarketWatch examined areas such as per-capita lists, job picture, and job growth against population growth.
