Ritenour High Principal Anthony Robinson wasn't sure where he was going to hang his new plaque.

"I'm trying to decide whether to hang it in my home office or at the school office," Robinson, 38, said. "I'll probably put it in my school office."

Twenty-nine other people also had to make similar decisions on Friday. They were the honorees at Friday's "North County Incorporated Salutes 30 Leaders In their Thirties" banquet at the Norwood Hills Country Club. The 30 winners are the newest generation of business, professional and community leaders in North County.

The honorees were recognized for their work in their communities and for the contributions to their professions. They were chosen from nominations sent in by their bosses or co-workers.

"It's a great honor," Robinson said. "I also liked it because it gave me a chance to meet other leaders in the community."
This is the fourth year for the event and it keeps growing, said Rebecca Zoll, president and CEO of North County Incorporated, a regional development association.

"People are starting to recognize that North County has some great leadership," Zoll said. "The young people in our community are dedicated to making this area better."

LaRhonda Wilson, 37, of St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley was impressed with the company of the other honorees.

"I'm very excited and it's such an honor," Wilson said. "I'm honored because of the stats of the other honorees."

For St. Louis County Police Sgt. Ray Rice, 36, the award was special because it emphasized the community relationship of police work.

"I'm very happy that law enforcement is being recognized for a side that many civilians don't know about it," Rice said. "It's a nice honor for all of us."

NCI hosted the event with the North County Suburban Journals and Gateway Television Network (GTN).

The sponsors were Bommarito Nissan, Honda & Volkswagen of Hazelwood, Commerce Bank, Commercial Bank, Christian Hospital, Favazza & Associates LLC, Ferguson-Florissant School District, JC's Home Health Care Service, SSM DePaul Health Center, St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, St. Louis County, St. Louis County Economic Council, and US Bank.
