Liberty Mutual to add 100 jobs in Fenton

Gov. Jay Nixon plans to make the expansion announcement Wednesday afternoon at Liberty Mutual's subsidiary Safeco, located on the Maritz campus in Fenton.
Liberty Mutual is Missouri's second-largest workers' compensation insurance group, with 11.29 percent of 2009 Missouri market share, behind Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Co.'s 14.8 percent of the state's 2009 market share.
Boston-based Liberty Mutual Holding Co. Inc., the parent corporation of the Liberty Mutual Group of entities, is the fifth-largest property and casualty insurer in the U.S. based on 2009 direct written premium. The company also ranks 71st on the Fortune 500 list of largest corporations in the United States based on 2009 revenue. As of Dec. 31, 2009, Liberty Mutual had $109.5 billion in consolidated assets, $95 billion in consolidated liabilities and $31 billion in annual consolidated revenue.
