Plan for Clayton high-rise office building is put on hold
From The St. Louis Post Dispatch. Tuesday, November 25, 2008by Phil Sutan
CLAYTON-- St. Louis County and an affiliate of Montgomery Bank are indefinitely delaying constructing a high-rise office building along South Central Avenue.
In late October, Denny Coleman, president and chief executive officer of the St. Louis County Economic Council, told the County Council that the county would seek a developer for the project by Dec. 1.
On Monday, Nancy Schnoebelen, a spokeswoman for the Economic Council, said the county would not send out requests for proposals to developers until the troubled real estate and financial markets improve. The council did not predict when conditions would be right to seek the developer.
