The owners, investors and employees, of these businesses appreciate and understand that the pro-business climate of St. Louis County is an excellent generator of wealth for both companies and individuals. In fact, A 2002 Brookings Institute study ranked St. Louis as #1 in the nation in per capita income growth. This study underscored the importance of wealth creation, as opposed to population growth, as the key factor explaining a metro area’s economic health.

In addition to its pro-business climate, St. Louis County ranks as
one of the top urban counties in the United States in terms of quality of life.

So whether it is our central geographic location, our strong support for businesses, our highly productive workforce, prominence in advanced manufacturing and advanced technologies, low cost, or cultural amenities — St. Louis County is an excellent place for employees to live and companies to prosper.
