Saint Louis Business Development Fund

The Saint Louis Business Development Fund (SLBDF) fills a special niche in the marketplace by investing in companies without taking any equity. SLBDF clients are successful, growing companies that are in need of capital, but unable to obtain additional funding from their bank. Rather than sell off part of their company (via venture capital or angel investors), they turn to SLBDF.

SLBDF services the entire St. Louis region (including southwestern Illinois), and will consider investments from $50,000 to $500,000.

Founded in 1994, SLBDF is a for-profit company owned by 24 banks and the three largest economic development agencies in the region. It is professionally managed by the St. Louis County Economic Council.
