Lindbergh High School Earns Recognition From U.S. Survey;
Lindbergh High one of five schools in Missouri to receive designation
Lindbergh Senior High School received some recognition by a national ranking service; landing in the top tier of the nation’s high schools.
The U.S. News Media Group gave the school a silver rating based on its students’ performance during the 2006-2007 school year.
The silver designation is given to schools which meet all three of the survey’s performance criteria, but who do not fall within the top 100 high schools in the nation.
The ranking system surveys more than 21,000 public high schools in 48 states and is conducted by a data research company owned by Standard and Poor’s.
Lindbergh was one of five schools in the state to receive the designation. Clayton High School, Metro High School, Lincoln College Preparatory School and Rock Bridge Senior High were the other Missouri schools to get the nod. There were 36 schools in the state to receive a bronze designation.
The schools are ranked based on how well the school’s students perform when statistically compared to the state average, how well the school’s least-advantaged students are performing when compared to the state average and how well the school’s students perform in college preparatory courses.
According to the survey’s Web site, Lindbergh has a school-wide proficiency rate of 65.1 in communications and arts and 67.2 percent in mathematics.
