St. Luke’s, RehabCare open new hospital

St. Luke’s Hospital and RehabCare Group Inc. (NYSE:RHB) announced Thursday the opening of the $7.5 million St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital in west St. Louis County.

St. Luke’s relocated inpatient rehabilitation to the new hospital, three miles west of St. Luke’s main campus in Chesterfield. The joint venture was announced in March 2007 .

The new 35-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility provides medical and therapy services for residents of the St. Louis metropolitan area.

St. Luke’s Hospital has 493 beds and offers more than 60 specialty areas, including cardiovascular care and surgery, cancer care, neurosurgery and neurology.

St. Louis-based RehabCare (NYSE: RHB) provides physical rehabilitation program management services in more than 1,200 hospitals, nursing homes and other long-term care facilities throughout the United States.
