Airport Area Redevelopment

Through an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement, the cities of Berkeley, Kinloch, Ferguson and St. Louis, St. Louis County and the State of Missouri have created an Intergovernmental Commission that is overseeing the development of 600 acres of mostly vacant land into a commercial/light industrial park. The development will create approximately 12,000 jobs, $320 million in property and income tax revenue and a total economic impact of approximately $7 billion for the St. Louis region.

Life Sciences Mid-West County Area Development

St. Louis County recognizes the emergence of the new Life Science industry as an opportunity for our region to become a gateway for this century's technology-driven economy. With the development of the Danforth Plant Science Center, the Nidus Center for Scientific Enterprise and the location of Monsanto World Headquarters concentrated in Midwest St. Louis County, the County has an outstanding opportunity to develop this area into a life science industry cluster.
