Ireland-based food ingredient maker Kerry Group initially planned to invest $10 million into its facility and create 40 new jobs. The company, which has seen its plans grow fivefold, instead will invest $55 million and create an additional 220 jobs.
Kerry Group bought the former Nestle candy plant in Affton to bake and supply ingredients to cereal companies and will consolidate the operations of three other facilities into the Affton location. St. Louis County Economic Council worked closely with state officials to bring Kerry Group to the area. The company received Missouri BUILD tax credits to finance a portion of the costs of the project.
