Community of Lemay

LemaySt. Louis County Economic Council is participating in the implementation of a comprehensive plan for the south county community of Lemay, which involves a variety of development and other community improvement projects.The Port Authority's Community Reinvestment Fund has been used extensively in Lemay.

The plan's most prominent feature is the redevelopment of the former National Lead Industries site into a $450 million entertainment and casino complex dubbed River City. Nearby, the Lemay Community Center, which is currently in the planning stages, has selected a site and schematic design with the community's input. The Stupp Brothers Steel site has been converted and fully leased to four commercial tenants producing 150 jobs.

Lemay also has been the target of other improvement projects such as a façade improvement program, foreclosure stabilization program through HUD, Jefferson Barracks Park study, and the construction of a 5,000-square-foot mixed-use building.
